Red and Blue Unite at Chamber Event Next Week

Married Duo and Political Foes, James Carville and Mary Matalin, Headline Wichita Metro Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Community Event on Dec. 5.

Wichita, KS – The Chamber is pleased to present two of the most well-known political strategists of our time, Mary Matalin and James Carville (who are married and reside on different ends of the political spectrum). The Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Community Event is Tuesday, Dec. 5 at Century II Convention Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m.

In a recent recording for the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, James Carville and Mary Matalin bantered about politics and the midterms.

“I’m delighted to [come to Wichita], especially with the shift in power that your city and the state of Kansas demonstrated in the midterms…It shows you really want to take our country back,” Carville said.

“Now don’t get too excited James. I know Wichitans still have a wealth of conservative pride and a lot of Republicans in office,” Matalin countered.

James Carville is a political icon. Mary Matalin is a conservative voice. Matalin assisted the Bush administration. Carville led Clinton’s “War Room” campaign. Their politics collide, but together in Wichita on Dec. 5, red and blue are about to unite.

Mary Matalin was the first to hold the double title of assistant to President George W. Bush and counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney. James Carville was recognized as Campaign Manager of the Year in 1993 for his leadership of former President Bill Clinton’s intense “War Room.”

“Wichita, we’re looking forward to our evening with you,” Matalin concluded. “Please come out on Dec. 5 to hear James and myself provide a little insight into politics, midterms…and how red and blue can live in the same world.”

Tickets for this event are still available. Loge seating is $50 and Balcony seating is $35. For tickets, call the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce at 265-7771 or visit www.wichitachamber.org/annualmeeting.asp.
