Ambassador Committee*

Meets first Tuesday of each month. Represents the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, ground breakings, grand openings and other Chamber events. Makes personal contact with members for information, feedback and retention.

Annual Meeting Committee

Meets April through November. Plans and implements the ChamberŐs Annual Meeting, the single largest Chamber event of the year.

Awards and Honors Committee*

Meets monthly October through May. Plans and implements the annual Honors Night banquet and recommends recipients to the Chamber Board for the Uncommon Citizen, Spirit of Wichita and Over the Years Awards.

Meets on call. Plans the Small Business Awards Program, which recognizes and honors top small businesses in the Wichita Metro area.

Business Roundtable*

Meets quarterly. CEO group concerned with workforce development in the Wichita/Sedgwick County area.

Character Connects Coalition

Chair: Ron Holt, Sedgwick County
Meets bimonthly. Engages community leaders in support of character development for all children and encourages positive modeling by all Sedgwick County adults.

Environmental Resources Committee

Meets on call. Works for the protection of the environment and to ensure that water resources and waste facilities are available.

Expoventure Committee

Vice Chair: Chris French, Cox Business Services
Meets on call. Plans Expoventure, an annual business show that allows companies the opportunity to showcase their products and gain new customers.


Get Connected Committee

Chair: Russell Dunn, Smith Barney
Meets on call. Focuses on enabling small business members to successfully meet and develop new customers. Plans and conducts the Business Showcase Mixers and B2B events.


Government Relations Committee
Staff: Pat Gallagher 268-1157
Chair: Tim Richards, Kansas Gas Service
Monitors federal actions that affect business. Recommends policy positions to the Chamber Board. Works with Congressional delegation to improve the business climate. Monitors the activities of city and county governments, reviews the school district budget and recommends policy matters to the Chamber Board. Serves as a liaison between local military organizations and the Chamber. Meets each Thursday during the legislative session. One of the Chamber's most active groups, it monitors the state legislature and state government agencies and recommends policy to the Chamber Board.

Golf Tournament Committee

Co-Chair: Todd Miller, M&M Insurance
Meets on call. This group plans and executes the Chamber's spring golf outing.

Keeper of the Plains Committee*
Staff: Donna Dickerson 268-1119
Chair: Marlin Penner, John T. Arnold Associates, Inc.
Meets once in October. Recommends the recipient of the Keeper of the Plains Award for architectural excellence. The award is presented at the Honors Night banquet in April.

Speak Up Committee

Chair: Katie Sparks, The Coleman Company Inc.
Meets monthly. Plans and conducts seminars, Small Business Working Luncheons and the Sunrise Scrambler breakfast meetings featuring business information exchanges.

Total Resource Campaign Committee
Staff: Molly Edwards 268-1115
Chair: Michael Monteferrante, Occidental Management, Inc.
Develops the leadership and financial resources of the Chamber through a fall 10-week all volunteer leadership campaign.

Visioneering Wichita Committee
Staff: Suzie Ahlstrand 268-1135
Co-Chairs: Harvey Sorenson, Foulston Siefkin LLP
Commissioner Tom Winters, Sedgwick County
Meets monthly. Leads and provides final policy direction for Visioneering Wichita planning and implementation for the Wichita Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Workforce 2010

Meets monthly. Exclusively for HR managers, this group provides a unique monthly setting where professionals can confidentially share best practices and challenges in the world of workforce development.
