The Wichita Metro Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner offers a unique opportunity for members to celebrate business accomplishments from the past year and preview the Chamber’s vision for the upcoming year. This event also features a notable speaker and provides an exclusive high-level networking opportunity for participants, as some of Wichita’s most influential business leaders will be in attendance.
Jim Clifton, Chairman of Gallup and author of the book titled “The Coming Jobs War,” will be the featured guest speaker at the Annual Meeting on Nov. 5, 2013, at Century II in Wichita from 6–9:30 p.m.
Clifton resides in Washington, D.C. and has led the 78-year-old research organization since 1988. Operating 40 offices in 30 countries and regions, Clifton has expanded Gallup’s reach with the Gallup World Poll, designed to collect information from the world’s 7 billion citizens on various global issues.
Published in 2011, his best-selling book, “The Coming Jobs War,” describes the need for local leaders to find their own solutions in the fierce and global competition for jobs. Over 250 Wichita-area business and community leaders received a copy of the book during the Chamber’s recent campaign to raise $9 million for economic development in the Wichita area.
2013 Chamber Chairwoman Debbie Gann is pleased that Wichita leaders will have the opportunity to hear directly from Clifton at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting. “Our number one priority is growing and expanding our job base. This meeting is a pivot point for our community. Collaboration is critical to ensuring that Wichita is the best place in the world for companies to do business.”
