I have lived in Wichita for 20 years, and I am always more proud of this city and its productive, generous people after attending Honors Night.

Honors Night

Wichita has many outstanding people and organizations. The Chamber’s Honors Night recognizes some of our community’s finest, following a tradition started more than 50 years ago.

Honors Night celebrates an outstanding individual, three exemplary corporate citizens, exceptional commitment to the community, and a striking architectural achievement. All of the honors have special meaning because each contributes to the greater well-being of our community.

On this special night, the business community gathers to say "thank you" to our honorees, who are indeed worthy. In recognition of this fact, their names will be enshrined on the "Wall of Honor" in the Chamber building, forming another stitch in the historic fabric of the Wichita area.

2016 Uncommon Citizen award - Marilyn Pauly of Commerce Bank
Established in 1974, this award recognizes individuals who have served their community year after year in an extraordinary capacity - making outstanding contributions to the civic and cultural institutions in Wichita.

2016 Spirit of Wichita award - McConnell Air Force Base
Established in 2002, this award is given to an organization or not-for-profit organization that received the Over the Years award at least 20 years ago, in recognition of its continued strength of employment, leadership, innovation, and community involvement.

2016 Over the Years award - High Touch Technologies; Spirit AeroSystems, Inc.; Starkey, Inc.
The Over the Years award is given to companies and organizations that have exhibited a long-standing performance as good business citizens and are major contributors to our area’s economic well-being.

2016 Keeper of the Plains award - Kansas Leadership Center
The requirements for this award include: aesthetic quality; improvement to the physical environment; visibility to the general public; and a well-maintained appearance.

2016 Ad Astra award - Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport
Created in 2001, the Ad Astra award honors outstanding achievements in the community that are worthy and deserving of recognition, but which aren’t necessarily aligned with any of the awards already established. This is only the third time the award will be given, following Exploration Place in 2001 and INTRUST Bank Arena in 2011.
