2022 South Central Kansas Regional Legislative Agenda

The vision of the South Central Kansas Regional Legislative Agenda is to build a regional consensus on top policy priorities and maximize the influence of the South Central Kansas region at the state capitol and with the Kansas Federal Delegation. The South Central Kansas Regional Legislative Agenda provides a powerful voice for the South Central Kansas region and our partners.

Economic Development
Support regional economic development projects, economic development incentives that result in more jobs and investment, and programs that keep the state competitive.

Education and Workforce Development
Encourage state education policymakers and post-secondary institutions to adopt innovative and cutting edge programs and practices to meet business needs for a skilled workforce.

Healthcare
Support expansion of Medicaid (KanCare) that is revenue neutral and encourages personal responsibility.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse
Encourage the Legislature and administration to consider additional investments designed to address the treatment of mental health and substance abuse in South Central Kansas.

Transportation and Infrastructure
Preserve dedicated transportation funding and ensure that South Central Kansas receives equitable distribution of transportation funding to build and preserve the transportation infrastructure that is vital to business and industry.

Redistricting
Encourage the Legislature to recognize the unified nature of our region as they designate new district boundaries for elected officials at the state and federal levels of government.
