A Message From Your Chamber President and CEO

Posted by: Gary Plummer, President and CEO on Tuesday, March 17, 2020

Dear Member:

Your Chamber has have been closely monitoring the virus outbreak and its impact on our members and communities. We are committed to serving you, our community and our region during this unprecedented time.

I wanted to provide you with an update on how we are responding, keeping in mind that our current plan is subject to change due to changing circumstances.

OPERATIONS - Chamber offices will be closed beginning Wednesday, March 18 and staff will be working remotely. We are committed to serving our members and our community with uninterrupted services. Our team will continue to be available to our members and the public through email and their regular office phone numbers.

BOARD & COMMITTEE MEETINGS – During this time period we plan to conduct our Chamber committee and Board of Directors meetings through electronic channels rather than in-person meetings. The Chamber team member who leads or acts as a resource for your committee will assist you.

EVENTS:  Based on recommendations from the CDC, state and local officials, the Chamber has postponed and/or canceled our events through the end of April. This includes our annual Honors Night (April 23), which we are attempting to reschedule later in the year. If you have already registered for an event scheduled for March or April, please check the event on our website calendar to learn more.

REFUNDS - Event registration fees for canceled events will be credited to member accounts to be used at a future event in 2020. Members who are already registered for postponed events are automatically registered for the new event date. Members who have questions about these policies should check the specific event on our website for contact information or call 316-265-7771 to speak with a staff person.

RESOURCES – Watch our social media platforms and other communication channels. We are sharing helpful links, webinar notifications and connecting our members with resources that can assist you with questions about updated SBA resources, HR advice, compliance with CDC recommendations, important surveys, etc.

Please take a few minutes to complete a short survey that we are conducting to better serve our community in response to this issue.

These unusual circumstances are impacting every aspect of our daily lives and livelihood. Our team wants you to know that we care about each of you and the impact this is having on you. We believe in the power of connectivity and collaboration and we are confident in our strength as a community to work through these current challenges. Stay well.
