New Podcast Launches January 13

A weekly podcast devoted to supporting and learning from area business owners launches on Wednesday, January 13. Produced by Forge Podcast Co, managed by the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Evergy, the first six episodes in the series are devoted to learning from local business owners about their experiences owning and operating companies in Wichita. The podcast is titled Wichita Chamber Business Accelerator.

Don Sherman (Community Affairs) and Ebony Clemons-Ajibolade (Economic Development) from Evergy co-host the podcast that features business owners and managers from a variety of industries. Guests in the first six episodes operate in six different zip codes within the metro area and range from solopreneurs to a company employing 150 team members. Some of the businesses are fairly new to the community, while others have a long history of serving Wichita.

Additional episodes will follow the six already scheduled through February 17. Don Sherman said the new series is an impactful way to elevate the visibility of area businesses, celebrate their successes and learn from their experiences. “The entrepreneurial spirit is an integral part of this region’s culture. This is a great way to showcase their services and locally made products while building more support within our business ecosystem. The people who own and manage businesses in our area are the rock stars of our economy. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the innovative ways they’re attracting clients, developing new products, and providing solutions for their customers.”

Chamber CEO and President Gary Plummer agreed with Sherman. “We’re continually looking for new ways to champion a diverse and inclusive business climate. As the hub for small business, we hope this Chamber series strengthens our business community while attracting and engaging more entrepreneurial talent. Many of our members have inspiring stories to share and we’re pleased to provide them with a new platform.”

The free podcast will be listed in popular podcast directories and aggregators, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Pandora and ICT Podcast Network. Links will be available on the Chamber’s website and social media platforms. New episodes will be released every Wednesday.
