A member of the Chamber affiliate, The Wichita Manufacturers Association, Eck Fabrication (EckFab) joined the Chamber last fall. The company's founder and owner is entrepreneur Ethan Eck (pictured below). Eck studied automotive chassis fabrication at Wyoming Tech and he's put those skills to use in his company where he focuses on welding, machining and tooling. He operates Eck Fabrication in Kingman, the same community where he was raised. His company was selected for the Wichita Business Journal 2017 Innovation & Enterprise awards.

Please tell us a little bit about your business.
EckFab is a small manufacturer with an emphasis on Research & Development (R&D). We started business in 2013 by creating a proprietary product line for the agriculture industry, Chem-Blade. With licensing this technology to another Kansas manufacturer, we've shifted our focus to supporting other local manufacturers until we develop our next invention! We operate a small team of 2 full time and multiple part time personnel with a diverse lineup of equipment capabilities. We enjoy taking an idea from scratches on paper to a fully functional machine that has never been built before.
What do you find most valuable about Chamber membership?
We look forward to networking and creating stronger connections inside our local network. We just got a fresh start by joining the Chamber in November 2020.
What is the best thing about operating in our region?
The people. We do business with a diverse variety of companies in R&D work and we constantly come across local people who are great to work with.
Describe your company's most recent success.
We started work for a local agricultural robotics company in 2020. We're excited to provide them with structural creations to drive their product forward in development and someday make their impact on industry.
To what do you attribute your success?
Striving for the highest quality possible. As a small manufacturer there is little to no margin for inaccurate deliveries. With handling high-value low-volume items, attention to detail is critical for success.
What is your favorite Chamber event, program, or service and why?
As a new member we're anxious to find out.
What is something people may not know about you or your organization?
Our backdoor views are of natural grassland which make for a beautiful place to come to work. No one expects to find a shop outfitted with Japanese CNC machines and finite stainless steel welding processes in the countryside.
What differentiates you from others who provide similar services?
Creativity. We set ourselves apart the most when a completely new and novel approach is needed. This is what we enjoy most about our work and our passion comes through with success.
What has Chamber membership brought to you and your organization?
Networking. We're a new member but we're already being connecting with new people.
Where do you see your company in five years?
A little bit bigger in both facility and team but with the same honed focus on creating high quality development goods.
What about your organization are you most passionate?
I am most passionate about my team’s drive to create a quality good.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how strongly would you recommend Chamber membership to a colleague?
9
Are you involved in any community/civic activities?
