Chamber Announces More Staff Promotions

Posted by: Lyndsey Cook on Thursday, March 25, 2021

We are pleased to announce several staff changes in our Community Advancement department! Due to growing momentum and engagement in our Diversity Equity and Inclusion department, Jonathan Long, currently Director of Community Advancement, will now focus his energy entirely on diversity, equity and inclusion activities as Director of DEI. Jaime Dupy, currently Vice President of Investor Relations/Strategic Development, will expand her duties under the new title of Vice President of Advancement. In addition, Tram Ngo is being promoted to Director of Community Advancement, while Alejo Cabral will take on additional responsibilities as Director of W – A Community of Young Professionals and Talent. We are excited about how each of these four team members continue to grow and bring value and leadership to the Chamber.

Jonathan Long previously served as the Director of Community Advancement. The founder of the Wichita Urban Professionals, Long has been involved in a number of community initiatives related to attracting and retaining talent, fostering community pride, and advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives. He has played a key role in overseeing the Chamber's Community Advancement initiatives including DEI, City-to-City trips and Leadership Wichita. His new role will allow him to focus his attention sole diversity, equity and inclusion activities for the chamber.

Jaime Dupy has been promoted from Vice President of Investor Relations/Strategic Development to Vice President of Advancement for the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, expanding on her current duties. Dupy has been with the Chamber since 2012 and has staffed programs for various Chamber departments during her tenure, including a managerial role for Young Professionals of Wichita and serving as Project Manager for Business Services and Government relations. She has a comprehensive background in sponsorship development and fundraising and her new role will allow her to share her knowledge and expertise to further the development of the Community Advancement department.

Tram Ngo will now be serving as the Director of Community Advancement. Ngo was previously the Manager of the department. She joined the Chamber after graduating from Wichita State University in 2017. She previously served as both a Project Manager and Manager of Government Relations. In her new role she will oversee the Chamber's Community Advancement initiatives including diversity and inclusion, City-to-City trips and Leadership Wichita.

Alejo Cabral will be promoted to Director of W and Talent. W is an affiliate of the Chamber with a mission to attract, engage and retain diverse young talent, so adding the additional focus of attracting and retaining talent will be a natural fit. Cabral’s ability to form relationships in diverse community groups has helped the organization increase its reach in the community. He originally joined the Chamber in January 2017 as the YPW (W) Coordinator.
