Please tell us a little bit about your business.
Bel Aire Recovery Center is a 42 “guest” residential substance abuse treatment facility that offers multiple levels of care to meet the needs of the patient. Our services include medical detox, medication assisted treatment, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. All of our services are enhanced by state and national credentials and led by a team of addiction professionals with decades of cumulative experience. We are in-network with the area’s largest insurance providers as well as the Veteran’s Administration in their Community Care Network.
Describe your company's most recent success.
We utilize an assessment process called Trac9 where our clients take an initial assessment and then weekly to track progress. The areas we measure include Quality of Life, Commitment, Optimism, but also anxiety, depression, trauma and craving. In November 2021, our clients experienced a cumulative increase in quality of life of 81% and a cumulative decrease in cravings of 82%. For us, our outcomes and client experience are the greatest measures of success!
What aspect of your organization are you most passionate about?
We are the most passionate about reaching out and bringing in patients who are on a destructive life-path and give them the opportunity to re-boot, and start over. Substance use disorders are chronic, progressive, genetic and fatal if left untreated. We are saving lives by providing care for those who enter our facility.
What differentiates your business from your competitors?
We stay in touch with former patients through robust alumni programming, wellness checks, an alumni chat app and outreach through our outcomes data management system. Additionally, we have continued to evolve and add curriculum and innovative treatments based on real-time data provided to us by our alumni and current patients. All of our competitors offer trauma-informed care, but we see trauma a core tenet of substance use problems so we treat it, among other mental health disorders. Treating the whole person will set them up for a greater opportunity for success.
What is your favorite Chamber event, program, or service?
What is your favorite business book? When we promote individuals into leadership positions, we recommend them to read Brene Brown’s ‘Dare to Lead’ as a resource for developing one’s personal leadership style.
What is the best thing about doing business in Wichita?
Wichita is a business-friendly environment where most people have connections to someone else. In that regard, Wichita seems like a very small town and word-of-mouth referrals have really helped us grow.
What is your favorite business app and why?
We rely on CaredFor to stay connected to our former patients. Internally, we use Tiger Connect as a messaging app among employees. Additionally, ObservSmart has changed our Risk Management realm as we are able to stay connected with the patients who are in our care and check in on them at appropriate intervals to make sure they are safe and well-cared for.
What exciting things do you have coming up at Bel Aire Recovery Center?
In the first quarter of 2021, we will open an outpatient facility in North East Wichita to add service lines such as outpatient programming, assessments and aftercare.
