Wichita Chamber’s Young Professionals Name Award Winners

W – A Community of Young Professionals announced the winners of its annual W Awards.

The award program celebrates up-and-coming young professionals and recognizes organizations that excel in efforts to attract, retain and engage young professionals in the Wichita community. W is a division of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce focusing on developing young professional leaders and attracting and retaining talent in the Wichita region.

Courtney Sendall, WSU Tech, will receive the Community Service Award, presented by iSi Environmental Services. The award is presented to a W member who is distinguished by their record of service to their community. They have engaged in continuing efforts to preserve and promote Wichita through their time, service, and talents. Sendall was nominated for her contributions to the team at WSU Tech and her professional growth.

Madison Key, Credit Union of America, will receive the Volunteer of the Year Award, presented by Kansas Turnpike Authority. This award is presented to a W member who has shown an exemplary record of service to W and a significant contribution towards the mission of W and their specific team. They have demonstrated active involvement within their Action Team and have made significant contributions of volunteer time, talents, and service.

The Distinguished Young Professional Award, presented by Foulston Siefkin, will be awarded to Tyler York. A staple of W and the organization’s key programming for years, York is instrumental in the success of Mission Wichita, a partnership with McConnell Air Force Base.  The Distinguished Young Professional Award is presented to a W member who has reached personal and/or professional achievements in their career, has positively impacted our community, and shows promise for continued success.

The annual Innovations in Business Award goes to Bondfire Strategies. This recognition is presented to a W Member who has demonstrated innovation in their industry, company or organization by making a unique or especially noteworthy contribution to their business or profession; reinvigorating or modernizing a business; or successfully starting their own business. Company founder Jordan Walker inspires other young professionals to take risks, try new things, and be active members of the community to make a difference.

The W Choice Award for Large Businesses will be awarded to Fidelity Bank, and the W Choice Award for Small Businesses will be presented to The Boutique 5. The W Choice Awards for businesses are presented to companies that excel in their efforts to attract, retain and develop young professionals in the Wichita community.

The awards will be presented during W’s Founders Day celebration, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., July 29 at the Wichita Art Museum.
