The Wichita Regional Chamber Political Action Committee is thrilled to announce that seven of the eight candidates endorsed by the PAC won their primary elections on August 7. The candidates will move on to the general election on November 5.
The WRCPAC promotes commerce and industry, advances economic growth and enhances the quality of life in the region by supporting candidates and issues that reflect the goals and objectives of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce and its member businesses.
Our community is directly impacted by the quality of individuals in elected office. WRCPAC has the opportunity to influence the election process through candidate support. That is why the WRCPAC plans to actively endorse and fund candidates with a strong vision and demonstrated strategies for creating a prosperous business community.
The following candidates have successfully secured their positions for the general election:
House District 77 | Kristy Williams: Incumbent Rep. Kristy Williams (R-Augusta) won her primary with 72 percent of the vote.
House District 90 | Steve Huebert: Former Rep. Steve Huebert (R-Valley Center) won the 3-way primary with 63 percent support.
House District 102 | Kyler Sweely: Kyler Sweely won the Republican primary with 57 percent of the vote.
House District 105 | Jill Ward: Jill Ward won the primary with 65 percent support.
Senate District 26 | Chase Blasi: Senator Chase Blasi (R-Wichita), running in a new district, won his primary with 86 percent of the vote.
Senate District 33 | Tory Blew: Tory Blew won the Republican primary with 66 percent of the vote.
Sedgwick County District 3 | Stephanie Wise: Stephanie Wise won a three-way primary race by securing 49 percent of the vote.
*Senate District 34 | Bob Fee: This is the only WRCPAC-endorsed candidate that did not win his primary.
