Toni Porter, Vice President of Government Relations and Military Affairs for the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, has been selected as the first Honorary Commander of the 184th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, Kansas Air National Guard at McConnell Air Force Base.
This prestigious appointment by Colonel Christopher D. Hogan, Commander of the 184th ISRG, reflects Porter's dedication to strengthening the partnership between the military and the communities they serve. Through this Honorary Commander program, Porter gains a firsthand understanding of the Air National Guard's missions and challenges.
“It’s an incredible honor,” Porter said. “The work these Airmen do is nothing short of heroic. I’m excited to continue bridging that gap between McConnell and our business community in every way I can.”
The 184th ISRG is composed of the 161st Intelligence Squadron, the 184th Intelligence Support Squadron and the 129th Operations Support Squadron. It plays a vital role in national defense through real-time observation missions and supporting global operations. Its teams of analysts interpret video and image data transmitted from specialized aircraft and provide intelligence directly to combat ground forces and air crews. The unit also supports disaster response efforts by analyzing satellite imagery to inform emergency management and first responders.
"Toni’s appointment speaks volumes about her dedication to military advocacy," said John Rolfe, President and CEO of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Her leadership strengthens the Chamber’s commitment to championing McConnell Air Force Base and highlighting its vital economic and strategic role in our region."
Porter leads the Chamber’s advocacy and military affairs efforts.
