As part of its advocacy efforts, the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomed U.S. Representative Ron Estes for a discussion with local business leaders on the challenges and opportunities facing manufacturing in our region.
The discussion brought together local manufacturers to share firsthand perspectives on workforce challenges, supply chain issues, regulatory impacts and competitiveness on the global market. These conversations provide policymakers with direct insight into how federal decisions impact manufacturers operating in South Central Kansas.
“It was encouraging to bring together local and regional business leaders for a meaningful conversation about tax policies that directly impact Kansas employers and their teams,” said Toni Porter, Vice President of Government Relations & Military Affairs for the Wichita Chamber. “This roundtable created an important opportunity for our business community to share what they are experiencing on the ground. We appreciate Congressman Estes and the U.S. Chamber for engaging with us on how thoughtful, streamlined tax policy can help businesses grow, innovate and remain competitive.”
Manufacturing remains a cornerstone of the Wichita region’s economy, supporting thousands of jobs in our community. The Wichita Chamber regularly meets with industry leaders and elected officials as part of its advocacy efforts to remove barriers and support long term economic growth.
The event was co-hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and held at Integrated Components, whose Chief Operating Officer, Josh Shorter, serves as the Wichita Chamber’s Vice Chair of Advocacy.
