The Wichita Educational  Foundation is an affiliate of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, a 501(c)6. The WEF is a separate corporation and has a separate Board of Directors, by-laws and bank account. This separation is important for the WEF to maintain its status as a charitable foundation. Chamber staff donate their time to provide administrative support for the WEF. The WEF was formed in 1997 as a 501(c)3 corporation for the purpose of providing education and training to people in the Wichita/Sedgwick County area.

The Foundation’s objective is to provide education, including the activities of Community Advancement (formerly Visioneering Wichita), leadership preparation and training for lifelong learning and improvement of job skills. Its programs are designed to address all ages from kindergarten students through adults.
