The Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office (KTSRO) is offering employers the opportunity to provide the National Safety Council for Defensive Driving Course to employees at no cost. The four-hour course focuses on defensive driving techniques, hazard recognition and response, impaired and distracted driving prevention, rules of the road and responding to emergency situations.
"This defensive driving course can help improve your employees' driving skills, which can help protect your bottom line," said Rosa Aranda, Traffic Safety Specialist with the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office. "We are certified to offer the course in both English and Spanish, and some auto insurance companies may provide a discount to drivers who complete the training."
KTSRO is a program of the Kansas Department of Transportation to promote roadway safety through education, training and public outreach programs across the state. Resources and educational efforts focus on areas including:
- Distracted Driving
- Underage Drinking
- Impaired Driving
- Motorcycle Safety
- Novice Drivers
- Occupant Protection
- Older Drivers
- Pedestrians
- Employers
